dampers

Hydraulic dampers absorb forces and motions across a wide range of applications. When installed in doors and gates, they protect against noise and damage from impacts. A damper ensures careful closing of the affected door or gate, enabling it to close smoothly and quietly while preventing wear or destruction.

A longer damper stroke provides sufficient safety clearance before the element reaches its final open or closed position. The damping force can be continuously adjusted to meet specific requirements. Our dampers are certified for use in fire protection applications.

SCHNETZ dampers are available in various sizes, diameters, stroke lengths, materials, stopper types, and configurations for single or double-sided damping.

  • Diameter and size determine the damping force.
  • Stroke length decides the damping path and the safety clearance between the start of damping and the end position.
  • Material selection varies depending on the application, such as stainless steel for high-corrosion environments.
  • End stops or buffers include options like a magnetic end element, aluminum/plastic buffer, adhesive counterplate, or screwable fixation.
  • Damping options can be single-sided or double-sided using UNO or DUO dampers

Products

Uno-Damper

The UNO damper decelerates the movement of doors and gates just before they reach their end position. The single-sided deceleration of forces acting on the damper is achieved through the displacement of hydraulic fluid via orifices inside the cylinder when the piston rod is pushed into the cylinder. The incoming piston is continuously dampened until it gently reaches its fully retracted end position. The damping force can be precisely adjusted using the gear regulation principle.

details at a glance

  • Single-sided damping
  • Adjustable damping force
  • Maximum damping force: 1,400N to 10,000N
  • Maximum impact mass: 500kg to 6,000kg
  • Impact speed: 0.01m/s to 2m/s
  • Operating temperature: -15°C to +40°C (special oil available for applications in extremely low or high temperatures)
  • Stop options: Magnetic end element, aluminum or plastic buffer, adhesive counterplate, screwable fixation
Duo-Damper

The DUO damper decelerates the movement of doors and gates just before they reach their end position in both directions. Depending on the requirements, the damper is available with mutually extending piston rods, automatically retracting piston rods, or a combination of both principles: one side retracts automatically, while the other is extended by the piston rod. The incoming piston is continuously dampened until it gently reaches its fully retracted end position. The damping force can be precisely adjusted using the gear regulation principle.

applications

Dampers are ideal wherever moving masses need to be decelerated. The primary focus is typically on preventing damage, whether to doors, gates, machinery, or other industrial components, as well as their surroundings, when motion sequences need to come to a stop.

SCHNETZ UNO and DUO dampers are installed in doors and gates, including testing and approval for fire-resistant doors and gates, elevator doors, and any other industrial or everyday applications where motion must be controlled and decelerated
